It has been a difficult season for Mercedes so far. Once again, the German team is not really competing for victories. Yet the poorer start to the season has paid off for the silver arrows, as George Russell tells us ahead of the race weekend in Miami.

The first race weekends of 2024 have been frustrating for Mercedes. The team is not competing for the higher positions, resulting in a disappointing fourth place in the constructors' championship.

Russell has faith in Mercedes

However, Russell thinks Mercedes has improved ahead of Miami: "I think we have learnt a lot from the past, from the races. I think we are in a much better position now that we have tried some extreme options [in the set-up] between races."

The Briton continued: "We now know in what area the car works best. I think we just need to refine that now and build on a better base. We have a bit more speed in the car this weekend, but I think it feels like the teams are coming up with updates. So whether there will be a change in the order or not, we will see. I think we are already in good spirits ahead of this weekend."
